Manchester’s Mason Collective deliver sounds that encapsulate the diverse roots of UK rave culture, from sound systems and reggae to the city’s club origins. Together, Blair Suarez, Adam Myles and Omar Guedar have formed a formidable alliance whilst: running their party brand, exporting their distinct style of DJing around the world, performing at an array of prestigious venues and festivals, and releasing their own output.
Mason Collective have been heavily involved and connected to the club culture of their hometown for over a decade. This coming July, Progress, Manchester, will host Mason’s third “MVSON World” Festival; a one-day Music & Arts event. This year’s features are unique, a street party theme across two stages. Its arrival is highly anticipated after the 2023 sell-out festival at an aerodrome and the 2022 MVSON World which took place on the scenic grounds of Arley Hall, a Northwest stately home.
They’ve travelled the globe to spin across the US, Europe and, of course, the UK. High-profile gigs include Space in Miami, Skyline LA 2024, Hï Ibiza, performing alongside the Martinez Brothers, Amnesia Ibiza, Pacha Barcelona, BPM Costa Rica, Parklife Festival, the Warehouse Project, Hideout Festival, Desert Air in Palm Springs and many more. With every performance the crew give 100%, injecting the dance floor with good vibes informed by their upbringing and years spent on the dance floor themselves. The crew are non-stop this upcoming Summer, where they are set to showcase their talent at Ushuaia Ibiza, CRSSD Festival, Elrow Italy, MVSON Barcelona and Sunwaves Festival.
As producers Mason Collective have released a steady flow of EPs, singles and remixes since their debut ‘Whippin’’ in 2018. The release hit No.1 on the Beatport charts and has been followed by releases on Play It Say It, Desolat, Hottrax, Saved, Knee Deep In Sound and many more, including their own Whippin label. Launched in 2019, Mason’s label Whippin has been home to their own releases, as well as securing releases with the likes of Max Chapman, Daniel Orpi, Neverdogs, Mason Maynard, Luke Dean and many more. The outlet has allowed all three Mason Collective members to build on their desire to cultivate community, forming strong bonds with the artists they sign, and nurturing the careers of up and comers. A further “MVSON” label will be launched in May 2024 to showcase their own music and host an array of world class producers.
Mason Collective’s recent releases have found immense success, dominating the charts and each one collecting a vast number of online streams. Single, “A Little Affection” has almost surpassed 600,000 Spotify streams since its release last year under Defected Records Limited (DFTD). Similarly, their recent Water (Remix) with rising talent, Fletch, has been well-received by Soundcloud listeners.
Fast forward ten years, MVSON events are now more popular than ever, with an atmosphere that is second to none, encouraging togetherness and uninhibited self-expression. Mason Collective are at the forefront of progressive movement that draws on their combined lineage to uphold the core ethos of rave culture: community, inclusivity, unity, positive energy and everlasting memories. This energy and exemplary music policy has made their long-running party one of the city’s most talked about and well-attended events.
